Well, this church was actually named after the small courtyard behind it. Tyn Church is located on the Old Town Square in Prague and is one of the most beautiful churches in our country. Construction of the church began sometime at the turn of the 13th and 14th centuries, but as usual, it took several centuries for the church to be completed.

Tyn is a merchants' yard and medieval customs of Prague located behind the church. It was also called Ungelt, which means "tariff" - ein Geld. Tyn or Ungelt was the place where foreign merchants were required to stay and where they had to weigh and tax all of their goods.

The towers of the Church of Our Lady before Tyn are 80 metres high. The church is 52 metres long and 28 metres wide and there are many Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque works of art inside. There is a Gothic tinny font from 1414, the oldest one in Prague. You can see a Gothic baldachin by Matthias Rejsek from 1493 on the pillars there.
